Christina Aguilera was born to Fausto Wagner Xavier Aguilera, a Sergeant in the U S Army and Shelly Loraine Fidler, a Spanish teacher. Her parents divorced when she was seven years old. Christina Aguilera along with her sister Rachel went to live with her mother at her grandmother's home in Wexford, Pennsylvania. Her mother later married a paramedic named Jim Kearns.
Christina Aguilera took to singing in her childhood and she was popularly known as 'a little girl with a big voice'. Her competitors feared her singing talents and out of jealousy ridiculed and boycotted her, at times even attempting physical abuse on her. Becoming weary of the backlash, the family soon relocated to another area where none would know Christina Aguilera. Christina Aguilera had a troubled childhood and she reflected her trauma in her songs, 'I'm OK' from "Stripped" and 'Oh Mother' from "Back to Basics".
In 2006, Aguilera had a third album released. “Back to Basics”, which she is credited for song writing and executive producer, became a worldwide success. After selling 4.5 million copies worldwide, Aguilera began a ‘Back to Basics Tour’ in Europe and then in North America.
